Chicken Man

In Houston we've had our hurricanes.  Normally the big storms hit to our east or our south but Hurricane Ike last night really walloped us.  Walking outside at night during the middle of the story (2-4am?) was like something out of a crazy movie.  Very surreal.  Tree limbs flying by, very dark, and hard rain slapping you in the face.

Two spots of light, though.  One was the KHOU Bear out on Galveston beach.  The other (and the best, I think) was the Anderson Cooper chicken.

The CNN crew is in downtown Houston droning on for hours with very little to report most of the evening.  I think it was around 10pm this car shows up behind Anderson and a huge chicken dude shows up and starts dancing around.  Check it out.  Great stuff, folks

Are You Changing Your Life Because of Swine Flu?

How many people are nervous or concerned enough about swine flu that they are changing their normal life and buying face masks, disrupting their normal activity, canceling trips, etc. I'd like to hear from you by posting a comment and sharing your experience so far. Also, add what you expect will happen with this outbreak. Here are a few ideas:

(1) Will it expand and present a significant health risk?
(2) Will it mutate and become more dangerous?
(3) Will it infect more people but fizzle out?
(4) Is it all overblown and less important than things like the Houston Rockets making the playoffs?

Mafia Wars

Is there anything more addicting that Mafia Wars on Facebook?  I'm finally up in the upper levels and excited about unlocking more tools on level 99.  One of the big problems is that you can't spend the cash you make on anything... seriously - how many town cars do you really need?  The other thing is the requirement to have a certain number of mafia members to get certain loot.  I understand the game's sponsors are trying to get more user and monetize the application, but wouldn't it be great if I could spend the money to buy mafia members... sounds like a fraternity, eh?
